Synopsis: Remake of the 1962 classic. Academy Award winner Sam Mendeswill direct. It is the classic story about growing up and the injustices of the world. Robert DeNiro will reprise Gregory Peck's Academy award winning role as Atticus. The film also stars Julianne Moore, Kate Winslet, Jack Nicholson, Terrence Howard, Whoopi Goldberg, Abigail Breslin, and Freddy Highmore. The film also features appearances by Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren, Nicolas Cage, Alan Arkin and many more A-List stars.

What the press would say:

Robert DeNiro is the head of a huge A-List cast. Many of these A-listers have only short cameo-like parts in the film. I personally think that this film is better than the original. Of course this version has a running time of 154 minutes and an infamously large budget, but it stays more true to the novel than the original did. And, of course Paul Haggis adds greatly to the script. Another interesting thing is instead of telling the story, it starts out with an old version of Jem and Scout (Streep and Arkin) looking back on their past and then the story is told. The best performance in the film is by far Kate Winslet as Mayella. She is amazing and is getting rave reviews. Also Abigail Breslin is great as Scout Finch.
