She buys a house in a small village of Massachusetts . There, she knows a rich man who can help her to get a better life: working in his factory. They finally feel in love but the problem is that he is married with the most beautiful woman of the village, Diana Wilson, daughter of the Boston ’s Duke. Diana and her friends, Jeena and Veronica, try to put an end with their relationship but their love is bigger. Two years later, John Mathews, a banker, arrive to the village and starts a friendship with Lisa. Lisa only wants to get a good future to her daughter and she had to choose between Tim and John. The problem is that Tim finally decided to return with his wife and Lisa starts a new relationship with John. The 19th of July of 1896, Anne Wilson, Tim’s Mother, die and all the Wilson ’s thought that Lisa is the murderer because she would want the revenge because of her spite. Finally, Diana wants Lisa to be dead and she fires her when she was in a shop and, at the end, she dies.

What the press would say:

“The best story of the century”. Violence, love, ambition, unfaithfulness, friendship and deception full the dialogues of this great story where the love of a mother (played by Cate Blanchett) can break the hardest walls. Scorsese have achieved a realistic dramatic story where all roles are played perfectly. Critics praise C/Kate roles. Once Again, Cate surprised us with a fantastic role played perfectly. Kate is magnificent with a femme fatale role which is played with great personality. All critics agree that this is Leonardo’s best supporting role and she have to win the Oscar because his role is very difficult and he did it absolutely fine. Abigail is lovely and she plays one of the most difficult roles played ever by a younger actress. The film is a new great drama and if you see it you will finally start to cry.
