Synopsis: A Temporary High is about 8 different young woman (Jessica, J, Jamaica, Jamie, Julie, Janet, Jewel, and Joan) played by Michelle Rodriguez. The woman all affect each others lives one way or another, having in common, drug addiction.

We start off with Jessica who is a track-athlete, winning gold for the Olympics, however she is believed to have done drugs, but her Coach (Tim Robbins) says that she hasn’t.

The second story is of J. J is a high-stakes robber who has been known for many heists, including robbing the Lourve, she is in an all female gang, A-Z, of twenty-six female robbers. There is also X (Kerry Washington) who believes J is going to screw up their next heist so she can keep the cash to herself.

We then see Jamaica, a druggie musician who spends her days sitting on the curbside of a car wash jamming with a group including her friend Bongo (Terrance Howard), who Jamaica believes is going to overdose.

Next is the story of Jamie Treat who is a ghetto-fabulous trailer trash woman who has a one year-old baby with her husband Earl (Michael Pena). Their trailer is being reposed along with all of their personal items.

The next story is of Julie, a waitress at Kelsey’s Diner. Julie is down on her luck and thinks Kelsey (Angelina Jolie) might have killed her husband, Fred, but is afraid to tell the police. There is a reward and Julie needs the money.

The next story is of Janet who is a small time crook about to rob a grocery store with a small gang who is controlled by her boyfriend Bobby (Tyrese Gibson). Inside the grocery store that they are robbing though is Officer Tracie Jordan (Robin Wright Penn) who fears that she might be kicked off a murder because she might be pregnant with the victim’s baby.

The next story is of Jewel, the new hot model who is married but is having an affair with the Photographer (Daniel Craig).

The final story is of Joan Callaway, a top business executive who has just made a giant deal for her company, but she had to demean herself with a Businessman (Liev Schreiber).

The woman’s lives are connected by the six degrees of separation. J is going to rob the building where Joan works and Jewel is doing her photo-shoot. Joan made the deal with the company who repossess Jamie’s house. However, Jamie’s husband, Earl, was best friends with Kelsey’s husband, Fred. Julie works for Kelsey and Julie needs to tell Officer Tracie Jordan who is on Fred’s case and was sleeping with Fred. However, Tracie is in the store that Janet is about to rob and Janet’s boyfriend Bobby is the one who sold the drugs to Jessica and Jamaica.

“Superb!”- People

“A+! A story filled with emotion.”-Entertainment Weekly

“It is hard for and actor to make ONE role come to life, however Michelle Rodriguez makes EIGHT come to life and beyond.”-Rolling Stone Magazine

A Temporary High is amazing. Michelle Rodriguez is terrific and brings 8 different people to life. She is a sure-fire Oscar winner along with strong supporting roles by Angelina Jolie, Robin Wright Penn, Michael Pena, and Daniel Craig. A Temporary High shows us the sad effects of drug use and how 8 very different people can come together and fail in a domino effect.
